2011 Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clay Clinic - June 3rd - 4th
On Friday, June 3rd and Saturday, June 4th, we held a skeet, trap, and sporting clay clinic south of Uvalde Texas at the Locomotive 501 Ranch owned by John McCall. John is our most contributing sponsor who welcomed us in to perform an awesome clinic for boys aging from twelve to fifteen. Tom Hupp and Don Synder are Uvalde veteran instructors and expert marksmen who were our clinicians.
We also had an ultimate surprise of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department who came in on Saturday and presented us a show of Game Thief. This is one of their ways of teaching youth game laws and different techniques of unlawful poaching. They explained gun safety and Texas laws concerning hunting and fishing. Tom and Don had shown awesome techniques on how to shoot skeet and trap that helped our students better themselves with a shotgun. Thanks to John McCall he not only provided a world class facility range, but also provided shotguns and ammunition for free. The shotguns ranged from a 12 gauge to a 20 gauge Benelli, which are very nice shotguns. Since the weather was alot hotter in the early part of June, the students shot Friday night and early Saturday morning.
We had great catering that John provided in his large lodge which provided shelter for our students on Friday night. Ray Perryman and Dennis Aaron rounded us up both days for great fellowship, and many of our students came forward to receive Christ as their savior. I want to personally thank John McCall, Locomotive 501, the employees of Locomotive 501, and the parents of the students that attended for helping us arrange such a great experience for our students. God bless all of you, and for those that didn't get a chance to attend we will be having future clinics so keep in touch to see when.
We have enclosed a Sponsor Response Form for anyone who attended the 2011 Skeet Clinic.
We would be grateful if you would take the time to complete it and mail or email it back to us so we can pass your messages along to our sponsors.
